What to do if your Mac freezes during software installation.


Mac computers are one of the demanding devices among all brands. But sometimes it creates a problem for the users.


In this blog, we will talk about what you should do if your Mac freezes during software installation.

Follow the given steps if your Mac isn’t working on updating software.

  • Shut down your Mac and then restart it.
Press the power button and start your Mac back up.
  • In the Mac App Store, open updates
Open the App store and click updates( if you were installing an app from the App store). You will also find that the installation process carries on from where it left off.

  • Check the log screen( to check if files are being installed)

Press command + L( when the progress bar appears) to check the log screen.

  • Try to install the combo update

The Mac App store isn’t the only place you can download Mac software from. You can go on the Apple website to download software.

  • Install software in safe mode

To do this Press the power button and hold the shift key to start the Mac up in safe mode.

  • Reset the NVRAM

If your safe mode doesn’t work, restart the Mac and hold down command, option, P and R. With this the NVRAM reset.

  • Install the OS from an external drive

If you are still having issues then you could try to install the OS from an external drive

  • Run Disk Utility (once you’ve updated)

When you finally get the software up, run the disk utility to correct any issues.
